The Job Search Handbook is published by HireSites, a leading developer of career and workplace web services that help people streamline their job search and advance their career. In addition to operating web sites that help people easily find employment, the company also publishes a weekly newsletter for job seekers. Being in the position of helping job seekers on a daily basis has provided HireSites with the experience and knowledge to produce this world-class resource.

The company was established in 2000, initially focused on helping people find jobs through new niche job boards it develops and operates such as AwesomeTechs.com, AwesomeAccountants.com, and later BestJobListings.com and HeadquarterSales.com. In an effort to help job seekers stand out from the hundreds of resumes recruiters typically receive by email each day, HireSites launched the first resume faxing service, FaxMyResume.com, in 2001.

In 2002, HireSites continued to give job seekers an edge by unveiling its ResumeDirector.com service, a site that lets job seekers get their resume posted on over 90 job sites at once. In the same year, the company launched its job search newsletter, a weekly Q&A advice column giving job seekers a fresh perspective on how to stand out from the crowd and conduct more efficient job searches.

In 2003, HireSites released PostMyJobs.com, a service which lets employers get their job listings posted on over 50 job sites at once.

Last year, the company launched RelationshipSecure, an add-in for Microsoft Outlook designed to help people move ahead in their careers through networking and maximizing the value of the contacts already in their address book. Also in 2004, ResumeArrow.com was launched, a service that lets job seekers have their resume sent to thousands of recruiters at once.

HireSites is a privately held company and is based in New York City.
